Perry Leisure Services Youth Basketball General Information
Our Basketball program is played following the Georgia High School Association with modified changes to some age groups. Practices and games will take place at Perry Middle School Gym, Mossy Creek Middle School Gym, Rozar Gym and other partnering facilities.

Sept 1 – Nov 1 Registration
No Refunds after November 23, 2026
Practices will begin late November/first of December.
Play will begin at the beginning of the year.
Nov 11th - Veterans Day
Nov 23-27 - Thanksgiving Holiday
Dec 22-Jan1 - Christmas & New Year Holiday
Jan 4 – School Planning Day
The age groups 7 to 12 will receive a uniform from the Athletic Department. Awards will be given to 1st place team players. Volunteer Coaches from the surrounding community coach Leisure Programs. We ask for your cooperation and understanding during the basketball program in uniting the youth to teach good sportsmanship and fun. Learning is gained from a win or a loss.

Rules for All Leagues
- All age divisions will play full-court, five-player basketball. All gameplay will follow Georgia High School Rules, except those listed herein.
- Age control date for all leagues is the participant's age before September 1, 2026. A birth certificate is required at registration.
- Rosters will be limited to 9 players per team in all leagues; exception: Mini Mite and Mighty Mites will have 10) unless prevailing circumstances dictate otherwise.
- If neither team has the required number of players to start a game, the game will be considered a double forfeit, and both teams will receive a loss on the records. (exception Mini Mites: this is a fundamental teaching league)
Selection of Players
- Every child wanting to participate in the program must apply within the time requirements through the Athletic Department; this includes players from previous seasons.
- Returning players' rights will be in effect, however a coach is not obligated to choose a returner. Head coaches' children ONLY will be placed on their team.
- New team assignments will be determined by a draft system.
- Drafting players will be conducted at a time and place designated by the Athletic Department. Draft policies will be conducted as specified in the manual. NO, trading of players will be allowed. Only two representatives per team will be allowed to attend drafts.
Players' Pool
- Once a player has been drafted or assigned, they may not drop off the team they have been drafted by/assigned to and request to be placed in the player's pool (waiting list).
- A player registering after his league is filled and/or any late registrant shall be placed in the player's pool (waiting list) and assigned by the Perry Leisure Service on a first come, first serve basis only.
Game Play
- Each player must play 2 FULL, entire quarters. Minutes CANNOT be broken up during the quarter being played. After player participation requirements is met, THEN and ONLY THEN can players be substituted freely.
